What Kind of Person Does Home Care Heroes Support?
Not sure if a companionship service is right for you? If you, your friend, family member or client are new to receiving home care services, you may be wondering what kind of people receive support from Home Care Heroes and if it’s right for you.
Disability Support and the NDIS
Being an NDIS-approved provider, Home Care Heroes supports a great number of Members with a wide range of disabilities. Our Heroes have experience helping people with physical disabilities, vision or hearing impairments, intellectual disabilities and autism. Our Heroes provide transportation, join in arts and crafts activities (whether in-person or via video booking), contribute companionship for events, can help with running errands and much more.
We also support primary carers and unpaid caregivers by providing either planned or emergency temporary care or respite care. Respite care provides a short-term break for unpaid caregivers of children or adults with disability, giving them a much-needed break so they can feel recharged, run errands or attend important appointments. Contact our team if you would like to arrange respite care.
Aged Care and Services for the Elderly Living at Home
Home Care Heroes has many elderly Members, and Members with elderly parents who are looking for a trusted source of regular support. Many aged care providers and nursing homes can seem expensive, overwhelming, crowded and daunting if you or your loved one are newly in need of care.
If they don’t need a nurse, just someone to check-in on them and spend a little time with them, seniors can feel more comfortable staying in the home they love and having dedicated, personalised non-medical care. You can choose to see the same Hero each week, someone who understands your elderly relative’s special needs and personal likes and dislikes so you don’t have to repeat the same instructions over and over to new support workers.
We also have Heroes who have experience with people with Dementia if required.
Support Coordinators
Many Support Coordinators and NDIS Plan Managers work with Home Care Heroes to provide dedicated support for their clients. Home Care Heroes provides personalised support by matching those who need support with local people in the community who share the same interests and have the skills and experience you need. Home Care Heroes places the choice and control of care in your hands, and can provide services through the following NDIS areas;
Core Supports – Daily Activities: Assistance with Daily Activities
Core Supports – Daily Activities: Assistance with Social and Community Participation
Capacity Building Supports – Social and Community Participation
