We are all aware of the impact of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic on an individual’s emotional well-being. Pandemics are stressful times that can cause a great deal of anxiety, especially for the most vulnerable in our society, who may fear for their health. These concerns also extend to the wider family who may worry about the exposure and health of their family member or friend but may feel powerless to help due to their own work or childcare commitments. So how do you help those who need to remain in social isolation for weeks, potentially months, on end?
Home Care Heroes is determined to help our community in any way we can. We’ve taken multiple approaches to support vulnerable people during COVID-19, one of these being the introduction of isolation errands and supplies support. We are an NDIS-approved provider and are considered an essential service, so we are continuing to operate as normal with one-on-one support for a flat rate of $40 per hour including weekends and public holidays. Home Care Heroes has built its reputation on providing reliable, affordable companionship and non-medical home care assistance for those who are feeling lonely or need a disability support worker. However, during these unusual and turbulent times, we understand the needs of our Members and community have changed, and therefore we have broadened our support services to include errands and supplies support.
During a global health pandemic such as COVID-19 (Coronavirus), it is recommended by health authorities that individuals should store at least a two-week supply of food, water, medicine and prescriptions. Yet this is easier said than done for many elderly people and people with various disabilities. Woolworths and Coles have announced interim measures to help prevent panic-buying affecting the elderly and people with a disability. For now, 7am-8am daily is now an exclusive shopping hour for the elderly and disabled people at all stores throughout Australia. However, what if you need supplies outside of this window?
If you have a friend or relatives who would like some added support, Home Care Heroes can help. We have thoroughly-vetted Heroes located throughout the Greater Sydney region, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast of NSW who can run errands, get any groceries, pickup prescriptions and more. Whatever task it is that you or your loved one needs in these uncertain times, Home Care Heroes is determined to help you find the support you need.
If you have any questions about becoming a Member or how our isolation errands and supplies support can work for you, our friendly team are happy to help. Call us 8.30am - 5.30pm, Monday – Friday on 02 8310 7531
